dio - A simple, flexible utility for generating and timing I/O
dio is a command line utility that can generate reads and/or writes
to a raw device, a file, or to memory. It supports large files, variable
block sizes, configurable seek lengths between I/Os, and initial
offsets. Most conveniently, all sizes and offsets can be specified
using simple infix expressions. All I/O operations are timed, so dio
can also be used to create custom I/O benchmarks.
